Accused Rashee Rice asks cops to drop assault charges against Chiefs star over Dallas nightclub incident

The man at the center of Rashee Rice’s assault allegations has asked police to drop all charges against the Chiefs star.

Rice remains under investigation after being charged hit a photographer at a Dallas nightclub earlier this month.

But officers told DailyMail.com on Tuesday that the complainant “signed an affidavit of non-prosecution” – outlining their desire to have all charges dismissed and no further action taken.

«The investigation is ongoing,» a Dallas police spokesman said.

The man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, including swelling on one side of his face, officials said earlier Dallas morning news.

Law enforcement officials were investigating claims that Rice punched the man, with a police report accusing a «suspect» — Rice not named — of luring the photographer back to the Lit Lounge & Feu nightclub in downtown Dallas before assaulting him.

But the nightclub owner at the center of the assault allegations disputed the police version of events. He claimed that security footage showed the plaintiff walking away with no visible injuries.

Rice already faces eight charges in the 119 mph Dallas car crash. Previous reports claimed that the Chiefs expect Rice to be suspended for at least half of the upcoming NFL season because of the wreck.
