Bukayo Saka is out through injury for Arsenal’s final Premier League game of the season.

The winger was missing from the starting line-up for their title clash against Everton in a major blow for the Gunners.

Saka limped off late on during Arsenal’s game against Man United last Sunday after a strong challenge from Sofyan Amrabat saw him fall down the side of the pitch and into the advertising boards.

Arteta spoke about Saka’s fitness in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Everton game and did not hint at any problems.

He said, «I think she’ll be fine.»

However, speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the game, Arteta revealed it was an isolated knock that kept him out of Sunday’s game against Sean Dyche’s side at the Emirates.

«Unfortunately, he picked up a small muscle injury during training and was unavailable for the game,» he explained.

«Luckily we have some great players, Martinelli hit and we still need to win.

“He (Saka) has been incredibly consistent all season and has always been available and he was gutted last night when he got injured.

Gabriel Martinelli was selected by Arteta to replace the Englishman in the starting line-up, with the Brazilian selected alongside Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard in attack.

Elsewhere, Arsenal were unchanged, with David Raya in goal, Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel and Takehiro Tomiyasu at the back and Declan Rice, Thomas Partey and Martin Odegaard in midfield.

Arsenal need a win and Man City need to draw or lose against West Ham for the Gunners to lift the Premier League title for the first time since 2004.
