Danniella Westbrook has revealed her father Andrew has died after battling dementia.

The actress, 50, confirmed on social media that her father Andrew had died after spending several years battling the disease.

Danniella wrote on Twitter with her father: “Hold our hand until the end. Rest, Dad.

“Jay and I will carry you in our hearts forever, as will our children. We love you.. (heart and prayers emojis) (sic)’

The actress recently admitted that her dad was in particularly bad health.

She said on social media: ‘Losing my dad and praying for strength.’

Danniella has been open about her father’s health issues in recent years.

In December 2022, Danniella revealed that she planned to spend Christmas with her father.

She wrote on Instagram: ‘She wrote on the picture: ‘A beautiful day spent with my dad. So happy that his meds are working and keeping the dementia at bay.

“I’m looking forward to spending Christmas Eve and Boxing Day together. At 49, I’m still a daddy’s girl and I love his company so much.”

The actress took to Instagram on Father’s Day 2022 to pay tribute to her ‘amazing’ father amid his battle with dementia.

At the time, she wrote on the photo-sharing platform: “Happy Father’s Day to the wonderful men in my life.

“The first, my dad, who has dementia but luckily still remembers us all. Thank you, Dad, for being amazing all my life and we love you.’

The actress took to Instagram on Father’s Day 2022 to pay glowing tribute to her ‘amazing’ dad amid his battle with dementia.

The soap star also admitted that her father – who worked as a taxi driver – and her mother were «very loving» to her during her younger years.

However, Danniella revealed that they were both initially skeptical of her acting ambitions.

Danniella – who first appeared in EastEnders in 1990 – told the Observer: ‘I came from a very loving family – you know, 2.4 children with a Volvo – and I was very irritated. I used to go every weekend.

“But I always wanted to be famous. My mum and dad thought I would grow out of it, but I didn’t.’
