The Baby Driver star suggested her good looks hurt her career – although some critics seemed to think the lackluster opportunities had more to do with her talent.

In an interview with InStyle, Eiza said, «I remember so many projects (being told) ‘She’s too pretty for this role.’ She’s too hot for this role.” Then I’d just say, “What’s Margot Robbie? She is the hottest and most beautiful woman I have ever seen in my life!”

Adding that Latinas have a different standard, the Mexican star admitted that she had an «identity crisis for a very long time» and even considered shaving her head in an attempt to boost her prospects.

After the interview, many took to social media to express their surprised reactions, with one commenter writing to X: «She can’t act like she’s crawling out of a paper bag!»

In the interview, Eiza talked about how she considered shaving her head.

«I was like, ‘Should I shave my head?’ Am I becoming less attractive? Am I becoming more attractive? Am I not dressing so hot, or am I still covering up?”’

Meanwhile, Eiza previously called for more Latina representation in the fashion and beauty industry after appearing in a campaign for Louis Vuitton.

The actress – who was born in Mexico City – told Vogue: “I grew up with all these beauty campaigns in the 90s and I wouldn’t see many Mexican women in them, especially in these big brands.

“I’ve always been sold that I have to be a certain style of woman to be that, and the fact that girls in Mexico who are brown and Latina like me will see a campaign like this and recognize the range of the brand makes me so honored and happy .

‘It normalizes the image for people and makes people feel included and seen.’
