A third person has died in hospital after a horror shooting that claimed the lives of two other people at a Perth home.

Western Australian police have confirmed a woman has died in hospital after another woman and a man were shot in the same attack.

On Saturday, police also revealed that the man involved in the attack shot both women before taking his own life.

The 60-year-old man is believed to have known the older of the two women, aged in their 50s, through mutual contact.

The relationship of the younger woman who died in the hospital to the two older people is not yet known.

«The woman who was taken to hospital yesterday afternoon has since died,» a WA Police spokeswoman said.

“Three people are now dead in connection with this incident.

Police were called to Berkeley Crescent in Floreat in the west of the city at about 4.30pm local time on Friday after a gunman opened fire.

The woman, who later died, was taken to Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition.

All involved are believed to know each other and police are treating the incident as domestic violence related.

Police were at the scene of the shooting overnight.

«The incident is closed and there are no ongoing threats to the public,» a police spokesman said.

“A large number of police units are present at the scene.

As part of the response, a police helicopter was dispatched to the area and circled overhead.

Neighbors described the street as «friendly» and said the home was occupied by a mother and her two adult daughters, The West Australian reported.

Neighbor Archer Beattie told 9News he heard screeching tires, driving, «lots of sirens and then the occasional crack.»

A neighbor called David to say his daughter was in the backyard with the family dog ​​and heard gunshots.

“She ran inside, locked the door and waited until we got home. She said she just knew it was gunshots,” he said.

“She said it was three or four shots.

«We know the family (at that address) quite well and we just hope they’re OK.»

The area remains closed to the public as detectives and forensics officers investigate the scene.
