Footy star marries love in secret wedding after ‘sad’ trolls bashed her over her choice of dress

Former Carlton player Lachie Plowman has married his model girlfriend Kenyah Hura in a secret wedding in Victoria.

Plowman, who will retire in 2023 after playing 145 games for the Blues, tied the knot with Hurrah on the roof garden of a Melbourne restaurant last Thursday – with the glamor couple only sharing photos from the event days later.

«We had a very small secret wedding and had an engagement party on Friday to celebrate with family and friends,» Hura told News Corp.

Hura made headlines last year when she was trolled for wearing a revealing dress at Carlton’s best and fairest night.

The daring black outfit featured a deep V-neck that reached just above her navel, exposing Hura’s cleavage.

But the bold choice of clothing has sparked a range of opinions, with some applauding her and others criticizing her.

One social media user complained: ‘Women want equality, I agree, but the deliberate focus on sexually provocative clothing, including in sports, is an obstacle.’

«Yes, because my breasts take us back to the 19th century,» Kenyah shot back in the comments.

The Melbourne-born model later spoke to the Herald about the incident and the demeaning comments she received.

«Contrary to the negative comments, I’m happy with who I am and I haven’t had any face/body work done and I haven’t damaged any fake tan in the process – I’m a Maori and Aboriginal woman and I’m blessed with beautiful brown skin that I’m up to very proud,” she said.

«It’s disheartening to see me being called a ‘bad example’ for younger women when I see it as the people judging me doing more harm to our community and teaching the younger generation bad things.»

“I have a younger sister and I aspire to be the best role model possible; not everyone is going to like you and that’s okay, as long as you like yourself and are happy that’s really all that matters.

“I have a supportive and loving partner, beautiful family and friends and I honestly know who I am, I don’t care what other people say, but I know that’s not the case for everyone.

«Over the years I’ve seen around the AFL system how cruel and harsh people can be and there’s no need to, try to do better.»

Kenyah is no stranger to glowing skin and her social media posts show a professional model working her impressive angles.

In 2017, she was voted one of Life Without Andy’s 10 Emerging Models to Follow on Instagram.

During a locker room interview in September 2023, Kenyah admitted that she wasn’t much of a soccer fan before she dated Lachie.

“I’m a supporter of Lachie Plowman. I supported the team for the first time,» she joked.
