Gary Lineker has strongly rejected claims that Man United are interested in signing Vinicius Jr. from Real Madrid.

The Match of the Day presenter has responded to a tweet claiming the Red Devils are planning a £130m summer move for the Brazil star.

According to Goal , Madrid may be forced to offload Vinicius to sign PSG forward Kylian Mbappe.

Following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, there have been several reports claiming that there will be an overhaul of the current squad in the transfer market.

However, former Barcelona and Tottenham striker Lineker found the rumor hilarious.

In response to a tweet linking to the article, Lineker simply posted two laughing emoticons.

Fans were quick to agree with Lineker, with one person writing: ‘I’m sure Vini would love to leave the best club in the world.’

Another added: ‘I’m a United fan and whoever posted this needs psychological counselling.’

Vinicius stunned fans in the Supercopa final on Sunday night when he scored a sublime first-half hat-trick to take his tally to 136 goals in 241 games.

It was also revealed yesterday that the former Chelsea boss Avram Grant attacked Lineker on Instagram after the BBC presenter shared an anti-Israel post on social media.

On Monday, Lineker shared a post from a pro-Palestinian account that called on international sports bodies to ban Israel from competing amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

He later removed the post due to an apparent misunderstanding, but Israeli-born Grant remained furious and launched an attack on the Match of the Day host.
