Instagram suffers widespread outage as users report issues following Stories


Instagram was unavailable for thousands of users in the US on Friday.

Around 3:30 PM ET, people started reporting issues with following stories, uploading posts, and sending direct messages.

Meta, the parent company that owns Instagram, said it was investigating the issue and working to fix it. It said that the update would be done by 8:00 PM in the evening.

Mark Zuckerberg’s company suffered its worst-ever outage in March, sending Facebook, Instagram and Messenger down for hours.
