Jennifer Lopez says she’s ‘the skinniest I’ve ever been’ after filming Kiss of the Spider Woman – and calls filming the musical ‘exciting and exhausting’


Jennifer Lopez is in great shape.

The singer and actress, 54, who is planning to go on tour this summer, has spoken of the work that has helped her get into ‘fighting shape’.

«I just finished a movie called Kiss of the Spider Woman, which was all singing and dancing, which was equal parts exciting and exhausting,» Kelly told Ripa and Mark Consuelos on Live with Kelly and Mark.

“I’m ready to go now. I’m the skinniest I’ve ever been. I’m in fighting shape right now.”

The film is based on Manuel Puig’s 1976 novel of the same name, set in a prison where a gay window-keeper shares the stories of a fictional actress he calls Aurora with his roommate, an Argentine revolutionary.

The Broadway production of the musical won seven Tony Awards, and William Hurt won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the 1985 film adaptation.

«He’s moving your body, he’s constantly moving your body, he’s traveling, he’s doing two hours of hard work every night… it’s when I get in really good healthy shape.»

As for the upcoming tour, which kicks off June 26 in Orlando, JLo said, “I’ve been mapping it out and working on the setlist and everything. I always like to do a very exciting show.’

The Let’s Get Loud artist said she never wants a fan to think, «Oh, this is the part of the show where I can go get a soda.»
