Kobbie Mainoo shows his quick thinking as he pushes Muslim player Amado Diallo out of the way of a champagne spray during their FA Cup Final post-match celebrations following their victory over Man City.

FA Cup Final winner Kobbie Mainoo showed his quick thinking isn’t just something he displays on the pitch with a move in Man United’s post-match celebrations.

Manioo’s first-half goal at Wembley, with United already 1-0 up, proved to be the winner as Erik ten Haga’s side beat rivals Man City to lift the FA Cup.

The United midfielder also proved to be a hero during the celebrations as the players basked in the win in the Wembley dressing room.

During the celebrations, Lisandro Martinez gathered everyone for a photo with the trophy before spraying the team and manager with the customary bottle of champagne.

However, instead of jumping on the fun of the moment, Mainoo instead grabbed teammate Amado Diallo and pulled him out of the way of the sprayed alcohol.

The reason he thought he would move Diallo out of the way of the oncoming noise hissing his way is because of the 21-year-old’s Muslim faith – a religion that has strict rules on alcohol consumption.

So while the rest of the United team accepted the champagne that was handed to them, Mainoo and Diallo were left on the sidelines after the young England midfielder came to the aid of his team-mate.

Alejandro Garnacho got the Red Devils going in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive mix-up between Stefano Ortega and Josip Guardiola before Mainoo doubled their lead before half-time.

City rallied late on thanks to Jeremy Doku’s consolation, but United hung around and prevented their opponents from making history, landing in the pair.

The win presents a major dilemma for minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who was reportedly set to sack The Hag this week whatever the result at Wembley. With the likes of Kieran McKenna, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino linked with the Dutchman’s job.
