Luka Doncic breaks Mavericks record by scoring 73 POINTS in win over Hawks to continue NBA scoring explosion … Devin Booker drops 62 of his own for Suns

Luka Doncic set a Mavericks record on Friday night when he scored 73 points in a virtuoso performance to lead his team to a 148-143 win over the Hawks.

Doncic broke his personal best and team record 60 points with the help of eight 3-pointers and 15 free throws.

Overall, he shot 75.8 percent from the field and became the first NBA player ever to record 70+ while shooting better than 75 percent.

«It was beautiful,» Doncic said.

His record-setting night came just four days after Philadelphia’s Joel Embiid scored a franchise-record 70 points and on the same night as Devin Booker’s 62-point performance in a Suns loss.

Karl Anthony-Towns also scored 62 earlier this week in a loss at Minnesota.
