Man United fans call for Sir Jim Ratcliffe to ‘sack Erik the Hag now and hire Mauricio Pochettino’ – after bombshell announcement Argentina boss is leaving Chelsea

Manchester United fans have called for Mauricio Pochettino to take over from Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

The bombshell news broke on Tuesday night that the Argentine manager was parting ways with the club after just one season in charge.

Chelsea had a turbulent start to the 2023-24 campaign, falling in the league table amid a long list of injuries, before later recovering to finish sixth in the table.

Pressure has mounted on Pochettino as many question why his side, who spent £1billion on new signings last year, are not performing to the standards perhaps expected of them. Still, the Argentine would seem to have turned things around at the end of the season and Chelsea went on a nine-game unbeaten run.

After celebrating the 52-year-old’s recent success with his young squad, Man United fans took to social media on Tuesday night to call on Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his management team to appoint the now-out-of-work Argentine football coach.

«United should appoint poch if they know what’s good for them,» wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).

«Another added I would take Poch to United,» said another fan.

One added: ‘Man United immediately dumped ETH and get Pocha’.

«I’d take Poch now! He’s the one who got away! If The Hag leaves, we should get Poch!” another said, noting that United were bidding to sign the former Tottenham manager.

In 2022, there was speculation that the Red Devils had shortlisted Pochettino as a potential managerial target to succeed interim manager Michael Carrick following the departure of interim manager Ralf Rangnick.
