Man United FUME fans in ‘muppets’ on social media ‘leaking’ Erik ten Hag’s FA Cup final starting XI… claim it makes them look like a ‘village club’

Manchester United have been labeled a «village team» by fans after their FA Cup starting XI appeared to have been leaked on social media hours before kick-off.

Leakage of squad news has been an issue all season and is something key figures at United have struggled to deal with.

But ahead of Saturday’s crucial FA Cup final at Wembley, which represents United’s last chance to qualify for next season’s European football, prominent Man United fans’ social media channels have begun revealing team news.

Rasmus Hojlund, who started the last two games on the bench against Newcastle United and Brighton, is said to start, while Sofyan Amrabat starts ahead of Casemir in midfield.

While nothing official has been detailed about the Ten Hag team, many United fans were furious that other supporters were threatening the club by prematurely ‘leaking’ the team.

«FA Cup final day and muppets like this trying to escape the whole squad to get a few likes on Twitter,» raged Matthew Jones in response to a post which claimed Bruno Fernandes was starting on the wing and Amrabat was in defensive midfield field.

«We are run like a village club,» wrote another disappointed fan.

Prominent United influencer Mark Goldbridge claimed to have seen the team as early as midday on Friday.

«Running away from the team the night before is a bit of a week tbh (to be honest),» Goldbridge wrote.

Returning to fitness for a number of players gives Ten Hag more options, which he says is a «luxury» problem.

One account on X, formerly Twitter, which claims to have seen the lineup, said: ‘Today’s lineup will send some United fans head to Mars.’

United are certain to face Manchester City without Harry Maguire, who is out through injury.

Maguire has missed the last four games with a muscle problem and the Ten Hag confirmed it «hasn’t healed as expected». That means Lisandro Martinez is expected to partner Raphael Varane in central defense against City at Wembley after both players have recovered from injury.

United also expect Mason Mount, Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof to be available after all three players return to training this week.

Maguire was not in the starting line-up for any of the four cup finals United reached during his time at the club, missing two through injury and starting the other two on the bench.

The Hag added: “Harry Maguire is not available but for the rest all the players you mentioned are available. Tomorrow is the last training session and we will make the final decisions, but as I see it now, it looks good (for Mount, Martial and Lindelof and Martial).’
