Neighbors star Troy Beckwith has died aged 48, his co-star has confirmed.

Former Neighbors actress Kym Valentine shared the sad news in a post shared on Facebook on Saturday.

«It pains me so much to say this. Our dear old friend Troy Beckwith has passed away,” Valentine wrote alongside a throwback pic of the pair.

“Another member of our TV family left too soon. There will be no funeral at Troy’s request.

«Thanks for all the memories my cheeky buddy and all the love to your friends and family,» she concluded.

Legendary casting director Jan Russ commented on Valentin’s post with condolences.

‘Oh no!!! Dear Troy… So sad…beautiful boy,” she wrote.

Actor Brett Blewitt, who plays Brett Stark on the soap, wrote: “He was such a lovely person. Deeply thoughtful and empathetic. Cheeky and playful out of his shell. Too soon. I love you, man.’

Neighbors actress Lucinda Cowden commented with a series of heartbroken emojis.

Meanwhile, Troy’s good friend Selina Laine Bonica added: ‘We’ve lost a star and the heavens have gained one. Troy, you were a pain in my ** but I loved you dearly. I’m just glad you’re out of pain.’

Troy’s good friend Ricky Fleming, who starred alongside Troy in the late 1980s children’s series Pugwall, also paid tribute to the actor in an Instagram post this weekend.

Beckwith played Michael Martin on Neighbors from 1991 to 1998 before landing small roles in Blue Heelers and State Coroner.

He was known as one of Neighbor’s most famous villains with his character labeled ‘Sicko Micko’.

The actor was also known for his role as Jeremy ‘Bazza’ Bazlington in the popular children’s series Pugwall from 1989 to 1991.
