Ross Bowen dies: Chris Bowen opens up about his father’s death

Australian politician Chris Bowen’s father has died.

Mr Bowen, the climate change and energy minister, spoke about the death of his father Ross Bowen on Wednesday morning.

«Mum lost her husband and constant companion of 53 years,» Mr Bowen said.

“Dad was a quiet man, but the hardest worker I’ve ever met and a fighter for what he believed in.

“He would go to work every night at 11pm and work through the night to take care of my brother and me.

“He never met anyone he didn’t want to help or support.

“I will miss his jokes and favorite sayings. His favorite is «It’s time for a beer sandwich, but I don’t need bread»».

Ross previously worked the midnight-to-dawn shift at the NRMA, where he was responsible for dispatching roadside assistance.
