Seaton, Adelaide: Girl, 5, dies at home – police called to investigate


A five-year-old girl died at her home in Adelaide.

Emergency services were called to a house in Ballater Avenue, Seaton, just before 4pm on Wednesday after another child, called Triple-Zero, The Messenger reported.

Rescuers arrived at the girl in cardiac arrest. She was rushed to the Adelaide Women’s and Children’s Hospital but could not be saved.

The girl’s death is now being investigated by leading detectives.

No arrests have been made.

The girl’s parents are reportedly helping the police.

A police spokesman said: ‘Just before 4pm… officers and the SA Ambulance Service were called to Ballater Avenue in Seaton in relation to an unresponsive 5-year-old girl.

«The girl was first treated at the scene before being taken to hospital where she unfortunately died despite the efforts of paramedics.

“The matter is now the subject of a coronial investigation. Police will remain at the scene for some time.

“Major Crime will assist Western District detectives with their investigation.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
