Surprise Star Sunrise is back! The breakfast show’s favorite cast member is permanently on air

The much-loved Sunrise star is making a permanent return to the popular Channel Seven breakfast show from Monday.

Co-host Matt Shirvington, 45, revealed on Friday that their beloved mascot Cash Cow will be back next week and there will be plenty of cash prizes up for grabs.

«Monday is going to be big. The Cash Cow is back and there will be a lot of money to give away,” Shirvo told the audience.

Co-host Natalie Barr, 56, then joked that she would «milk» her mascot for all it was worth – and give the proceeds to lucky viewers.

“Time to say Moo-chas Gracias to our gorgeous heifer and milk her for all she’s worth! I am so excited to welcome Cash Cow back to Sunrise.”

Meanwhile, Channel Seven confirmed the news in a statement: ‘After a brief stint in the paddock, Cash Cow is back and bringing the cash pool with him.’

They added a large amount of money that will be given away to a lucky viewer every day for the next week.

‘A whopping $5,000 will be given away every day next week. However, if the audience does not answer within three rings, the amount will continue in the jackpot.’

From Monday, viewers will be able to enter their details on the Sunrise website for a chance to win.

Cash Cow previously offered giveaways to viewers with a chance to win up to $10,000.

This was normally done by viewers finding a code word and entering the competition via SMS.

In April 2022, the cute mascot was retired from the show for a surprising reason.

No editorial decision was made to drop Cash Cow, but instead it was forced to go off air due to changes in premium SMS services.

Since viewers will now be entering the competition online, this will no longer be a problem.
