‘The Daily Show’ is currently without hosts

Variety reports that sources have confirmed that when Daily show comes back from hiatus, there won’t be a permanent host to replace Noah who left Daily show after seven years in December 2022. Instead, the Emmy Award-winning TV series will rely on its correspondents –The people of Lydia, Ronny Chieng, Michael Kosta, and Dulce Sloan-rotate hosting duties alongside celebrity guest stars. Wood Jr., a longtime and beloved correspondent at Daily showhe left the series last year as he was dropped for a permanent guest appearance.

«I can’t figure out plan B while I’m still working on plan A,» Wood told NPR. “The job of a correspondent… it’s not really one where you can juggle multiple things. (A) I think eight years is a good run.’

The search for a permanent replacement for Noah, who took over from a longtime and beloved Daily show host Jon Stewart in 2015 it was at least full. But rather than bumping into one of them full-time Daily show host, president of Paramount Global Network Chris McCarthy he reportedly said they «don’t feel ready to pick one at this point» and will instead rely on a «newsroom concept» that relies on a group of correspondents to lead the program. For Varietythey’ll still be interested in a permanent host to get started… sometime.
