The US Office «could come back as a movie» as actress Melora Hardin revealed she’s had «a few ideas thrown around» by producer Greg Daniels.

Melora Hardin revealed there is potential for US Bureau to «come back as a movie» when she gave an update on the series this week.

The Steve Carell-led show, which ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013, is said to be returning to screens after writers Matthew Belloni and Jonathan Handel previously claimed creator Greg Daniels was working on a return.

Now Melora, who starred as Jan Levinson in the series, has admitted that «Greg had a few ideas».

Speaking to The US Sun, she explained: “That’s up to Greg because he’s the maestro. I would definitely show up. I think a lot of us do.

“I would like to make a film because then it would be quick and we would do it. I think we could bring everyone back for that.”

The Steve Carell-led show, which ran for nine series from 2005 to 2013, is said to be returning to screens after writers claimed creator Greg Daniels was working on a return.

She added: “I’ve actually been talking to Greg about some ideas. I thought it would be funny if Jan was like a self-help guru because she was kind of flawed.’

In the wake of the WGA strikes in September, former The Hollywood Reporter Matthew and entertainment writer Jonathan wrote, «Greg Daniels is going to reboot the office, for example.»

Their article for The Puck came in response to news that The Writers Guild of America had reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers – but the Guild warned: ‘No one is allowed to return to work until special permission is given.’

The duo mused about other projects, saying: ‘Disney’s Dana Walden will finally be able to announce the return of his best friend Ryan Murphy from Netflix.

«There will be a ton of high-quality movie scripts coming in. The industry will be back to normal.»

Last year, Greg said: “I can’t say if the fans would want more, and if I say more, I don’t think it would be the same characters…

«I think it would be kind of like an extension of the universe, you know what I mean, like the way ‘(The) Mandalorian’ is like an extension of ‘Star Wars.’ But I don’t know if it would be something that people would want or not, it’s hard to say.»

Set in a Pennsylvania-based paper company, this American adaptation of the show was inspired by the Ricky Gervais-led British original.

The Office became a cultural phenomenon when the American version was made, and the series finale in 2013 was seen by a staggering 5.69 million viewers.

The most-watched episode was a two-parter in the fifth season called «Stress Relief» with 22.9 million viewers.

Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant created the original BBC show The Office, which ran for two seasons and a Christmas special from 2001 to 2003.
