Tobi Amusan posted the fastest time at the Jamaica Invitational

Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan attacked the world’s top after taking down Jamaica’s Danielle Williams at the Athletics Invitational.

Nigerian track and field sensation Tobi Amusan has underlined her status as the world’s fastest woman this year after pipping world champion Danielle Williams in front of her home crowd.

Amusan finished in a remarkable 12.40 seconds to win the 100m hurdles at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational.

Her stunning world lead of 12.40s saw Amusan blow away the opposition, with reigning world champion Danielle Williams of Jamaica settling for second in 12.46s.

That was the Nigerian’s major statement of intent ahead of the summer’s biggest meetings and the 2024 Paris Olympics.

She clearly picked up where she left off after running a world record 12.12 to win gold at last year’s world championships in Oregon.

Unique technique, speed and confidence were once again in evidence as she left the top field behind in Kingston.
