X Factor’s Cher Lloyd is making a triumphant return to the Mighty Hoopla Festival stage almost 15 years after she first shot to fame on the ITV show.

Cher Lloyd returned to the stage on Saturday for the first time in almost two years.

The 30-year-old singer hasn’t performed since 2022 but wowed crowds at London’s Mighty Hoopla music festival at the weekend.

Cher showed off her svelte tummy in a diamond-encrusted crop top and donned red army pants to turn heads on stage.

When it came to make-up, she went for a natural look and accessorised with a pair of chunky hoop earrings, which tied her dark locks into a ponytail.

The pop star opened her mini set with Oath, followed by Want U Back and None Of Your Business before closing with her signature track Swagger Jagger.

Cher rose to fame in 2010 when she took part in the X Factor with an extraordinary audition in which she performed Keri Hilson’s version of Souja Boy Turn My Swag On.

Cheryl was mentored throughout the series and finished in fourth place behind One Direction, Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle.

She quickly released her chart-topping debut album Sticks + Stones in 2014, followed by Sorry I’m Late, but has only released a handful of singles since then.

She got engaged to Craig Monk in 2012 and they married the following year before briefly moving to the US and having Delilah-Rae, six, and Eliza Violet, nine months, after returning to the UK.

Her triumphant performance comes just weeks after she took to Instagram to share a warning to her followers after experiencing a car brake failure while driving with her daughters.

Explaining what happened, she shared a photo of her car and wrote: “This is my Ford Ranger. My brakes completely failed without warning while driving with my baby and my 5 year old.

“Total engine failure due to wet belt. For anyone who owns or is thinking of buying one, BEWARE! I count my lucky stars that my family is safe. However, this beautiful vehicle was retired long before its time @forduk.’

Looking back on her ‘diva’ days on The X Factor, Cher told Fabulous magazine in 2012: ‘I was a beast! Everyone hated me.

“I was young and stupid. Part of me was trying to show that I was strong enough to do it, and then I think it was too much for me.

«I was angry at the way I was being groomed and because of that I turned into this horrible person with a horrible attitude.»
